Butlersbridge U12s got their Spring League campaign off the ground with a very good all round team performance in Bawnboy on Thursday last. With both teams exchanging early scores, it was not long before Butlersbridge got the upper hand. The loss of key player, Fionntan O’ Reilly through injury mid-way through the first half seemed to spur the Bridge players on with some sharp shooting most notably from Colin Clail and Liam McEntee. Templeport’s best patch came after half time and were it not for some fine defending by Kevin McPhillips and goalkeeper, Finbar Comiskey the scoreline might have been different. Bridge rallied and finished the half as the stronger team with some fine link up play between Jack Graham and Jody English.
